What is THE bEAR?
Since 2015, THE bEAR has been Berlin’s most popular stage for true, personal stories told live—without notes—in English and German. Each show brings strangers together through the power of shared human experiences. It’s storytelling in its purest form: one mic, one light, and one person burning with a story to tell.
These evenings amplify voices we rarely hear, celebrate diversity, and prove that this ancient art form is alive and thriving—our sold-out audiences are proof.
Now, thanks to Eduard Kirchner, passionate listener and storyteller, THE bEAR is coming to Hamburg! In partnership with HORNER FREIHEIT – DAS STADTTEILHAUS, the stage will feature both Berlin favorites and Hamburg’s very own storytellers—maybe even you.
Show Theme: Discovery
An evening of unscripted five-minute stories on the theme DISCOVERY: stories of seeking, stumbling upon, and seeing with new eyes.
Maybe you crossed an ocean or uncovered a hidden part of yourself.
Maybe scattered puzzle pieces suddenly fit together.
Discovery isn’t always about finding something new—it can be noticing what was there all along.
From wrong questions and happy accidents to revelations in dusty attics or late-night conversations, we want to hear about that electric moment when the world rearranged itself around a single, undeniable truth.
